I haven’t been updating this blog, and I wonder who reads it. I think no one, cos I don’t tell too many people too many things.

During this period of time, many things have happened in my life. As usual. Have you ever wondered, how 3 months later may seem like a long time, but when you go through this period of time, it actually feels short. 3 months ago, I thought September was quite far-off. Now it’s coming to September, and I feel time passed very quickly. However, looking back, I realised I’ve done a lot of stuff.

ok i know this really sounds like crap, and you may not understand what I’m talking about. But what really inspired me was Shu Wen’s blog. I realised that her earliest entry dated back to Aug 2005, which was a long time ago. That’s really impressive  I was also inspired by a note on facebook that Tiffany Toh did a few weeks ago, asking questions about your life 6 years ago, 3 years ago, 1 year ago, now, 1 hour ago, 1 day ago…

Today, 陈老师 was telling me to try contact lenses asap after learning that I’ve wanted to try it for a very long time. I think the earliest time I wanted to try contact lenses was either in p6, sec 1 or sec 3. can’t really remember, i think it was when i was in p6. Yeps, I think what she said was a reminder for me to grab hold of opprtunities when i see them, and that 青春是本钱. cos she said, the last time you’re young is when you’re in JC. I remember she also said, “那你要等到几时? 大学啊?” She said this before telling me that the last time you’re young is when you’re in JC.

yeps, i should overcome my fear of failure and rejection and see the dentist for braces and the optometrist for contacts soon!

[haha ok this post was inspired by 2 texts i did for h3 chinese, and also by the people who are in love/ crushing someone. It was meant to be posted on 18.04.2009, but I was too busy and lazy to finish typing it.]

I wasn’t used to that idea at first, but as you grow older, you get more open-minded… and that’s what happened. I became more open to that idea as i grew older.

I guess the people who criticize this kind of relationship are mostly Asian, because of a variety of reasons. (this is STRICTLY A PERSONAL OPINION)

1. I live in an Asian country, so what I hear are mostly Asian opinions. I don’t have the chance to listen to other points of view.

2. According to someone closely related to me: Asians have this mentality- older men and younger girls (e.g. Jackie Chan’s co-stars are usually younger women)

3. Guys want younger girls because they feel more superior this way; girls want younger guys so that there is more security??? (ok this is not really asian, more universal) Therefore if the reverse happens then it’s not too normal???

4. ok, i can’t think of any more reasons at this point of time (:

Anyway, my point is that we should be more open-minded to different kinds of relationships. Love trancends all borders, including age gaps.

Why is it that people are more willing to accept a relationship where the guy is older and the girl younger, but  less able to stomach the reverse?

这句话好像是张小娴说的吧。我非常同意。

虽然世上有很多比较痛苦的事，但是我觉得这也是相当痛苦的。每次碰到对方就会与自己挣扎，是否跟他表白？表白后被拒绝就怎么办？表白后被接受是一件好事吗？会不会有负面影响？怎么跟别人泄漏自己喜欢他的那片心情会是如此的简单，而跟对方表白又是如此的艰难?

But the most important reason is that when i was writing the post, I thought of many girls I knew who chose wrong paths in life, like her. They ended up in a miserable situation. I don’t know if they’re really miserable, but judging from common sense, I think they are.

I really hope they make the best out of their situation. Hope that they won’t do any more wrong to themselves. (错了再错- I was reminded of this song)

当一些女生批评男生时，不管是明星还是女朋友喜欢的对象，都会先批评他的样貌。难道，对方的样貌不符合你的要求就代表他是个100%不好的人呢? 那，未必如此。但，在现代的社会，image and looks are the only two things that matter sometimes.

有时候会觉得整个世界上的人都心思浅薄；漂亮的东西只不过是个美丽的悲哀。
